Commissioner Handy sits on the bench in the Family Law Court in downtown Riverside, California. Commissioner Handy presides over cases involving all matters related to a Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce), including child custody, child support, spousal support, property division and restraining orders. She is a member of the California Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions (CJEO). Commissioner Handy is trained as a lawyer. She represented juveniles in juvenile delinquency (criminal proceedings) and dependency court proceedings. Her experience includes working on complex civil litigation and insurance cases as well as working in-house for an internet start-up company. Commissioner Handy graduated cum laude from Whittier Law School in 1999, and received her under-graduate degree in Sociology from University of Texas, Arlington.
